Baking utensils

  • 1 pack of Koopmans Speculaas mix
  • 150 g butter or margarine
  • 1 pack of  Almond paste (300g)
  • 1 egg
  • 4 tbsp water
  • 1 sachet dr. Oetker Garnished almonds
  • Square baking tin 18x18 cm
  • or springform 24 cm

  1. Place the rack slightly below the center of the oven and preheat the oven.
  2. Knead the whole with a mixer with dough hooks or by hand into a cohesive dough.
  3. Stir the butter slightly until soft, add the mix and 2 tablespoons of water.
  4. Place the dough in the refrigerator.
  5. Mix the almond paste with half the egg and 2 tablespoons of water.
  6. Grease the baking tin with butter or with baking spray (Dr. Oetker).
  7. Knead the dough briefly and divide it into 3 parts.
  8. Line the bottom of the mold with 2 parts of the dough and press the edge to approx. 2 cm.
  9. Spread the almond paste over the dough with the back of a wet spoon.
  10. Roll out the rest of the dough into a slice the size of the mold and place it on the almond paste.
  11. Brush the dough with egg, decorate with almonds and brush again.

Bake the filled speculaas for about 40 minutes.
